Notre Dame RB Audric Estime Speaks To Media At 2024 NFL Scouting Combine
D Ross Cameron, USA TODAY Sports

Former Notre Dame running back Audric Estime is fresh off of a fantastic 2023 season, which was the ideal ending to his career in the blue and gold. The 5-11, 227-pound runner finished his junior campaign with 1,341 yards and 18 touchdowns. That rushing touchdown total set a record for a single season total for Notre Dame.

Estime opted to declare early for the 2024 NFL Draft, leaving a year of eligibility on the table. He now heads to Indianapolis, Indiana to participate in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. A lot is on the table for the New Jersey native, who hopes to impress all the NFL scouts, decision makers and coaches in attendance.

On Friday, Estime met with the media. Here is what he had to say.

Estime on athleticism:

“I would agree that I’m quick but I would also agree that I am very fast too. My film speaks for itself. I get the opportunity to get out there on Saturday to show what I can do. I look forward to it.”

Estime on last game at Notre Dame:

“It was definitely a great experience. It wasn’t as much nerves as opportunity. It was still a business trip. This one was just a little bit further than other business trips. It’s the thing about Notre Dame, you get the opportunity to experience a lot of things that other schools don’t. I am grateful for that.”

Estime on playing in Ireland:

“It was great. I was just so surprised to see how many Notre Dame fans there were. To be able to experience a different culture other than the American culture is a great opportunity that Notre Dame provides.”

Estime on victory over Stanford:

“It honestly felt good to just go out in the regular season with my team like that. All the hard work we put in started back last January with winter workouts. We wanted to finish on a high note like that. Personally, that was a career game for me. I didn’t know it was my last game at the time but looking back on it, finishing my career like that was very satisfying.”

Estime on his comparison:

“I’d say Adrian Peterson. The reason is because he’s a bigger guy, a physical guy and he runs like he has bills to pay, and that’s how I run. He’s also a guy who moves like a smaller back. He’s very light on his feet. He’s quick and fast. He can run routes. He can pass protect. He can do it all. That’s why I model my game after him.”

Estime on best run of his career:

“Probably my Central Michigan run. I showed good vision. I was able to read and find the right hole. I showed my athletic ability by hurdling someone and I showed my long speed to pull away from defenders too.”

Estime on meeting with the Baltimore Ravens:

“I formally met with the Ravens. It would be a great opportunity. They think highly of me. Lamar is a great player and they are a great team as a whole. I think it would be a very good fit to play with them.”

Estime on Deland McCullough:

“Coach McCullough deserved everything that he is getting. He has been a big mentor in my life. He’s a great coach, a smart guy but he’s more than a coach. He honestly cares about his player deeply. He is a family guy and I really love that about him. His lessons are things that I’m going to cherish forever.”

Estime on his Combine expectations:

“I’m hoping to show the teams I’m very athletic. I’m a big running back who can do it all. I can run routes. I’m quick but I’m also fast, have long speed. I’m a three down back and I’m looking to show that I'm the best running back in the draft.”

Estime on the Dallas Cowboys:

“I just like the energy the Cowboys had. They are very energetic guys and had smiles on their faces. I’m a guy that is always smiling and they were smiling right back at me. They are a very football savvy team that knows a lot about football. I’m a guy who always wants to be informed. I feel like in that system I’ll be able to learn everyday and maximize my ability.”

Estime on hobbies:

“I have a lot of secret hobbies that a lot of people might not know. I like to cook a lot. I like to draw a lot. I like to sing. Some people might not think I’m the best singer but I think I’m a really good singer. I like to spend time with my family and friends. I’m a very family oriented guy so every chance I get, I try to spend time with my family, watch a movie or go take a walk.”

Estime on the Buffalo Bills:

“The Bills have been in contact. Some things that I would bring are my winning attributes. I’m a winner on and off the field. I love to win but I would say I hate losing more than I love winning. I’m going to be a guy that can do anything for a team to win, and that’s in season, that’s in the offseason, in the meeting rooms, in the practice field and obviously on the field on Sundays.”
