Celtics Sign JD Davison to a Two-Way Contract
USA TODAY Sports

The Celtics filled one of their three two-way roster spots with a familiar face, signing JD Davison a contract that will have him shuttling from Maine to Boston.

The Celtics utilized that mechanism to bring the former Alabama point guard on board after drafting him with the 53rd overall pick in last year's draft.

In 44 games with Maine, Davison averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and nearly a steal per contest. His 339 regular-season assists ranked fourth in the G League. It's also the second-most by a player in a single season in the club's history.

In 12 appearances with Boston, he produced 1.6 points and almost an assist in 5.5 minutes per game.

Davison stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, a game-high 11 assists, four rebounds, and two steals in the Celtics' 2023 Summer League opener.
